Fonds Helmut Hartweg

ESMINT Fellowship

The European Society of Minimally Invasive Neurological Therapy (ESMINT) offers a fellowship and observership programme, exclusively for ESMINT members. The programme is for physicians wishing to obtain competence in Acute Ischemic Stroke Interventions (AISI) as defined by the European Board of Neurointervention (EBNI). The goal of the programme is to train young neurointerventionalists in stroke procedures by offering financial support for them to join an INR training center.

By the end of the training period, trainees should have performed at least 25 stroke procedures as first operator, and be able to manage clinically and endovascularly the vast majority of the stroke cases referred to their own centre.

The programme consists of:

  • A 1-year training at one of the designated centres (see below), financially supported by ESMINT.
  • Fellows are also offered complimentary registration to the online EXMINT course and invited to join  our e-Fellowship programme. These are not compulsory, but both are strongly recommended.
  • A series of lectures on the basics of neurointerventions by well-known neurointerventionalists was planned for ESMINT Fellows starting in 2024.
  • ESMINT fellows will also receive a free registration to the ESMINT Congress.

Applications for the seventh edition of the programme are open. The deadline for applications is 23:59 CEST on 31 March 2025.
